Azalea afghan

Just finished this for a shop sample. The pattern is from the First Book of Modern Lace Knitting, originally published in 1954, reprinted by Dover Books. The pattern was intended for a thread lace doily, but using a heavy worsted yarn I've made a much larger piece. The finished size is 48" across x 54" from hexagon point to point. This was a knitting speed record for me, done in 3 weeks from cast on to blocking. Marathon sessions of 24 contributed to the speed.

Cascade Ecological Wool, less than 2 skeins (478 yards each), US10 needles.
