the painted sheep


For the last couple of weeks, I've been dyeing wool locks. This is what I'll be taking to the farmer's market starting this Sunday.


The Leicester Longwool fleece grows up to ten inches in length. It's wonderful to spin directly from the locks, with minimal processing. I just flick card the ends then comb it out and it's ready for spinning.
