dept. of amazingly cool

I've been playing around with a demo of Weavemaker, and I can't even begin to describe my delight with this. The window above is the design space. Below is the fabric simulation.

It's a tiny bit buggy on my mac, but it is mac native, which is amazing to begin with. As usual, I know I'm going to be spending much more time playing on the computer than actually working with fiber.

pattern design service to knitwear designers

In my "other life" aside from yarn shop owner and caretaker to hordes of hungry animals, I'm a freelance graphic designer. I do quite a few knitting patterns, and am just starting to offer this to a larger clientele.

Here are two samples recently done for my friends at Yarns International. The chart for the first was redrawn from the scanned photo (below) of a typewritten original; I can work with anything from sketches on a cocktail napkin to Word or Excel files. Schematic drawings, proofreading and test knitting are available as well.

If you are interested in classic, elegant and easy to read patterns, please contact me.

Noro sock!

Ahhh, this is pretty. I got in three colors for the shop, and can't wait to start making something out of it!

Leicester Longwool

Just washed a couple of samples from this year's clip. I'm going to spin this up from the locks without carding, maybe just teasing it a bit to open up the locks.
