Puffed sleeves — great on babies up to 14 months old, particularly on handsmocked Liberty of London cotton dresses. Ridiculous on adults. Please, designers, just because it looks new and novel (it's not, you know) doesn't mean it looks good. Particularly those at or above bicep level. Particularly in bulky knits.

This is one of the dresses I made for Lily fourteen years ago. At the time, I sewed most of her things. It was my uber-mom phase. Now I'm happy if she wears shoes in the snow.
