getting ready to open

This process is taking a lot longer than I planned...I'm building these plinth bases for the shelves, which will help keep the stock cleaner by getting it off the floor, and only have 5 more to go. The band clamp was about $50, so I can only do one at a time, glue and wait, glue and wait.
Most of the yarn is here, and my net 30 is running down, so I really have to get this place OPEN. Wait till ya see all this gorgeous stuff!

Cinderalla story: part 1

This little item is a mid-1930's vintage air vent. Ugly, no? They are installed in my house, and originally I had plans to replace them with something cast iron. But...they are growning on me. They possess a simple utilitarian depression/pre-war era strength. I started picturing them painted in fire engine red enamel. Its going to take some work, steel wool and time. I'll keep ya posted.
