experiment in color

Sample skein; hasn't been washed/finished yet; those kinks should smooth out when I do; this was done by splitting 3 different rovings down and spinning them together. It was kind of fiddly to spin, and I think there might be better ways to accomplish the same look.

2 ply merino

I've been a bit more successful with these; hand dyed merino wool, about 600 yards total.

more tropical thoughts

Here's a bit more recently spun yarn, and some on the bobbin. I'm working on "perfecting" single ply yarn. Its slow going. These are merino wool, which drafted nicely, but might be spun a little too softly in places.

spinning a yarn

a couple of photos of recent dyeing and spinning...I think the colors are coming out of a serious need for a tropical vacation. Temperatures in the teens and 20's will do that for you.
